Who I am

This site is run by Dr Flo Byrne in the UK. I’m responsible for the personal data you give me here.

What I collect, and why

Your email address, when you ask for Issue 01. I use it to send you the issue and the weekly Build it or Bin it email. The legal basis is your consent, which you confirm by tapping the button in my first email.

Your name, email and idea, if you send me an idea. I use them to read and reply about your idea, and, because you ticked the box, to talk about the idea in a video. I won’t show your name unless you agree separately.

Who handles it for me

Emails are stored and sent by Kit (kit.com). Idea submissions are stored by Netlify, which hosts this site. Both may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. I never sell your data.

How long I keep it

Until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. Idea submissions are deleted within 12 months unless your idea is featured.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from any email with one click. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time by replying to any of my emails. If you’re unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
